Hello! Are you interested in simple and gorgeous mark-making and printmaking techniques that you can even create in your own kitchen? Join us for a hands-on introduction to gel plate printing in this 3-hour workshop, offered on two dates: Saturday and Sunday, March 7 & 8, 2-5pm, instruction in English. You’re welcome to attend one session or both if you’d like extra time to experiment and play.

We’ll explore the world of printmaking using 5” × 7” (12.7 × 17.78 cm) Speedball Gel Plates, creating seven one-of-a-kind prints per session.
Gel plates offer a depth of detail and dimensionality that other plates don’t. We’ll work with Akua Inks—soy-based, richly pigmented, and easy to clean up with dishwashing soap and warm water. Together, we’ll delight in building texture and lines using stencils and found objects from the instructor’s magic box of mark-making tools. You’re also invited to bring along materials to share with others. Students should bring a few pieces of newspaper to carry prints home in, and may also bring textures like stencils, doilies, lace, paper, etc. to experiment with and share with your peers!
Let’s have fun and print together; you leave with at least seven prints on archival paper, and new friends at Riso Pop!
No experience necessary! Maximum 6 people!
Costs: One day only, €85
If you want to participate in both days (Sat & Sun) Weekend Workshop €155, March 7 & 8
